dude i guess you're talking about rollers. i've built pump tracks and dirt jumps and i always throw in rollers whenever i can. the secret to rollers are spacing and height. some people get all techno geek about it but it really just comes down to trial and error. i take my bike and put it at the bottom of the trasition then roll it back like 2 bike lengths and put a stick on the ground to mark the spot where the top of the roller will be. pile up your dirt, shape it with a rake, then back up and take a look at it from the side. then take your bike and roll it over it to check the spacing. i usually make mine too close the first time and end up having to back it up a bit. don't make it too steep and make it nice and curved like a wave on top. make sure there's no flat spot between the roller and your transiition, it needs to be sloping down and sloping up. pack that baby down and try it. some people wrote make it steep for more speed etc but i don't really agree with that. rollers are like icing on the cake. you can check out leelikesbike.com for some tips on rollers, too, he has covered it quite extensively.
